Ocean Hiker Sailing Course or OHC

The Ocean Hiker sailing course is not just a sailing course, it is a creation by Island Cruises Yacht Charter, a collection of the most important  skills cruising sailors and skippers are appreciating or even expecting of their crews. We combine all of the basics traditionally taught in a Competent Crew Course plus a lot of our own first hand world cruising experiences. Our courses are taught by world cruisers, the yachts are oceangoing boats equipped with the necessary gear to undertake long distance passage making or ocean crossings.

Of course nobody can become within a week a fully trained skipper ready to cross the seas but our goal is to create a truly useful crew with maximum practical training possible in our given time frame.

We offer a few programs different from each other in terms of time and location. Courses can start either from Koh Tao, Koh Phangan or Koh Samui.

- 4 day 3 night Ocean Hiker off shore passage making course (Live aboard)

- 6 days Ocean Hiker course on Koh Tao

- 9 day Ocean Hiker course including 3 day passage to Angthong national marine park

All of the programs covering the same training syllabus but vary in the achievement of mileage.
